The Silver Room is a creative space, offering Canberrans access to some unique opportunities, including: Silver Smithing, Perfumery, Candle and Soap making sessions to name a few.
The Silver Room is also a gallery and show room that sells jewellery, Perfume, Soap and Candles made on site. We also host a number of workshops and guest instructors covering a variety of creative skills. In addition, we also offer jewellers Bench and tools for sale and rent.
The Silver Room is located next to Sydney Tools Unit 16 / 157 Gladstone St, Fyshwick.
The Silver Room has a number of workshops. we don’t just do jewellery making Sessions, we also offer Perfumery, Soap and Candle making sessions. In addition, we also invite other instructors to provide sessions against their specialised skill including working in Precious Metal Clay (PMC). Wire wrapped Jewellery, Woodturning, and stamped metal work to name a few.

No prior Jewellery experience is necessary. The tasks only require basic hand tools knowledge like sawing, filling and use of pliers and light hammers to bend and shape the soft metal. There is a hot flame needed to solder but our highly skilled staff are ready to help you if confidence is low.
Sessions run 7 days a week so hopefully there is a time to suit. we also offer evening sessions if you work or have busy weekends. [Bookings are essential ]
Monday to Sunday (2 sessions)
10am and 2pm
Monday to Thursday (Evening sessions)

We like to make the experience as good as possible, so we keep the groups small (between 2 and 8 per workshop).
Each participant of the workshops is provided with all the materials and tools needed. For the ring Making experience, you will receive a choice of either a round piece of 925 (sterling) silver or a flat piece, all the hand tools (pliers saws and bench pegs) are for use by individual students. with large polishers and ultrasonic cleaners being available to all students..
We encourage you to think about your own design and allow you to pick you material to suit your design. Of course, some designs may require advanced skills and take longer to complete than the allotted hours. However, there are many ways to incorporate themes that look just as good.
YES! each session is designed to allow you to complete your project in the allotted time. the cost of the materials is included, and you encouraged to take anything you make home.
Yes – All the tools you use, including the ergonomic sit / stand workstations, are available for purchase.
We also offer silver, semi-precious and precious stones for sale.
