Join us for an exciting silver making experience where you’ll learn the art, whilst creating your very own fidget /spinner ring. This workshop is held over two consecutive sessions: mornings at 09.00am – 12.00pm break for lunch and restarts at 12.30pm – 3.30pm. To ensure personalised attention, each session is limited to a maximum of 8 participants, with a minimum of 2 required.
During this 6-hour session, we will quickly cover all the fundamentals of silver jewellery making. You’ll gain hands-on experience in designing, measuring, cutting, shaping, soldering, polishing, and finishing your own fidget / spinner ring. By the end of the class, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to create another ring in your own time.
*A spinner or fidget ring has a number of free turning rings set on top of a wider stationary ring.
This is an intermediate skill experience as it builds on previous ring making experiences with the added complexity of Bezel setting.
In addition to the immersive learning experience, we provide tea and coffee and light lunch to keep you refreshed and energized throughout the workshop. Our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way, sharing their expertise and helping you bring your creative vision to life.

What’s involved?
In this 6-hour makers workshop, you will learn the following key steps:
- Design: Explore different design ideas for your jewellery piece.
- Materials and Tools: Understand the essential materials and tools needed for making and assembling your fidget / spinner ring.
- Measurement and Cutting: Learn how to measure and cut sterling silver wire or sheet metal to your desired specifications.
- Filing and Shaping: Practice using files and sandpaper to smooth rough edges and shape your metal pieces.
- Soldering: Discover the soldering technique to join metal components using a torch and solder.
- Bezel Setting: Experience a simple and easy to follow method to set a coloured Cubic Zirconia (cz) stone.
- Assembly: Learn how to assemble the different parts of your fidget / spinner ring
- Polishing and Finishing: Discover how to polish your sterling silver jewellery to achieve a beautiful shine.
- additional Techniques: include options for, stone setting, and texturing to enhance your jewellery’s appearance.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Understand how to properly clean and care for sterling silver jewellery.
What do I need to bring?
When attending a workshop at The Silver Room, we provide all the necessary materials and tools you’ll need for your silver jewellery making experience. You don’t need to bring anything specific with you; just come with your enthusiasm and creativity!
Clothing Requirements
Attendees MUST wear closed-toe shoes to ensure safety during the workshop. If you wear prescription glasses or safety goggles, please bring them along as well. Any long hair needs to be tied back. Avoid wearing loose flowing garments or scarves.
